Changpeng Zhao, or CZ, is launching a new educational project without involving cryptocurrencies. The goal of the former Binance CEO’s new “gamified” platform is to provide free education for everyone.

CZ Zhao: former CEO of Binance dealing with a new educational project, but without cryptocurrencies

Changpeng CZ Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, is launching his new gamified educational project, which however does not involve cryptocurrencies. Here’s the announcement on X:

“My next project. @GiggleAcademy (Still without a logo). Free basic education (from 1st to 12th grade approximately), for everyone. Without income. Gamified. Adaptive. Read the conceptual document at http://giggleacademy.com We are hiring. Small team, working directly with CZ. We are looking for teachers able to create digital content.”

The new CZ platform is called Giggle Academy and has been defined as “gamified and adaptive”, with the goal of providing free basic education for everyone. Currently, CZ is hiring staff.

Specifically, Giggle Academy aims to educate disadvantaged children in developing countries, providing content that covers education from first to twelfth grade.

As pointed out in another tweet, however, CZ wanted to exclude cryptocurrencies from his new project:

“Launch of a new project. No, no new token. Educational project. More details coming soon…”

CZ Zhao: the new project without crypto, but involving NFTs

Although cryptocurrencies are not involved, it seems that the new Giggle Academy project does involve NFTs.

And indeed, considered a “zero revenue platform”, Giggle Academy plans to turn its educational content into a gambling game, using a system that includes points, scores, rankings, and NFT badges.

Not only that, in the conceptual document there is also talk of the future possibility of adopting a “learn-to-earn” system. In this regard, CZ commented:

“I have been thinking about what to do next for a few months. I need to find something that has the maximum positive impact that I can achieve in this world. That’s why I should do something that I am good at and that is scalable.”

The guilty pleas of former Binance CEO

CZ returns to the “non-crypto” scene just 4 months after his guilty plea. In fact, it was November 2023, when CZ resigned from his position as CEO of the famous crypto-exchange Binance, which he co-founded.

In its statement, CZ admitted to making mistakes, without stating that the final decision was a result of an agreement with the Department of Justice, which had him banned from holding operational roles at Binance.

Not only did CZ have to pay a $175 million bail to be released by the authorities, otherwise he would have been imprisoned.
