Telegram declares itself compliant with all EU laws and defends its CEO Pavel Durov

The great messaging app Telegram, defends its compliance with EU laws, after its CEO, Pavel Durov, was arrested in France.

Telegram respects the laws of the European Union, including the Digital Services Act, and its moderation meets industry standards and is constantly improving. Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, has nothing to hide and often travels to Europe.”

In practice, Telegram has stated that it is fully compliant with the laws of the European Union and that its content moderation practices fall within the “industry standards”.

This statement comes after its CEO was arrested at a French airport by local authorities. The reason for this arrest appears to be a criminal complaint focused on the platform’s moderation practices, which French law enforcement considers insufficient.

In fact, despite there not being a formal accusation published yet, it seems that the company and its CEO are guilty of having published organized criminal acts.

Is Telegram compliant with EU laws? On X, supporters of Pavel Durov weigh in

While Telegram is trying to prove that it complies with all EU laws, on X many famous personalities are starting to post their support for Pavel Durov

First of all, it is Elon Musk, owner of X, who published an interview with the CEO of Telegram and emphasized his position through the hashtag #FreePavel.

In the world of finance, the terms “bull” and “bear” are often used to describe market trends. A “bull” market is characterized by rising prices, while a “bear” market is marked by falling prices. Understanding these concepts is crucial for investors.

Justin Sun, CEO of Tron, has even publicly proposed to organize a DAO to help Durov obtain his freedom, stating that he wants to donate one million dollars to the cause.

“We should show the unity of the cryptocurrency sector by organizing a DAO #FreePavel to help Telegram founder Pavel Durov legally obtain freedom. I will donate 1 million dollars if it is created in a decentralized way with sufficient community support. @elonmusk@MarioNawfal”

The price of TON: losses slow down

As already reported, the TON price experienced a sudden drop of -22%, falling from $6.8 to $5.2 overnight.

Obviously, such a dump represents the reaction of investors to the news of Durov’s arrest.

TON is in the tenth position in the general crypto ranking, with a current total market cap of 14.2 billion dollars.

At the time of writing, TON is worth $5.64, with a trend that still seems to be one of “uncertainty” but at least appears to be containing the losses.
