Revolut app has launched the new loyalty program for debit cards to all customers in the European Economic Area (EEA), called RevPoints. Now users will be able to earn points while spending through Revolut and get rewards in travel, accommodation, experiences, and more.
Revolut app and the new loyalty program RevPoints to get rewards in travel and more
Revolut, the financial super app, has announced the launch of RevPoints: the new loyalty program for all its customers in the European Economic Area (EEA).
“PSA: The RevPoints have arrived! We are now the first pan-European debit card to offer air miles in exchange for your daily expenses, depending on your plan. That’s right: different European markets can now get rewards that go far. Earn points and exchange them for fantastic travel discounts or cash on your next online purchase.”
In practice, with RevPoints, customers can accumulate points during daily expenses and unlock various rewards. Among others, these include exclusive discounts on travel, accommodations, and experiences.
Specifically, customers can transfer their RevPoint to over 30 airline loyalty programs. Among others, there are Flying Blue (which includes Air France, Air Europa, Delta, Etihad Airways, KLM, etc.), Avios, and many others. This way, travel becomes more accessible than ever, despite the increases in flight prices.
Not only that, RevPoints can be redeemed for discounts on holiday accommodations and experiences, through the Lifestyle section within the Revolut app. Points can also be used to get discounts during online shopping with Revolut Pay.
Revolut app and RevPoints: the first loyalty program for debit cards
This new initiative by Revolut is also an absolute novelty. In fact, it seems that RevPoints is the first loyalty program for debit cards.
Unlike other traditional loyalty programs, in fact, RevPoints does not require a credit card, making rewards available to all users.
Depending on the plan, users can also earn up to 1 point for every euro spent. Not only that, there is the possibility to accelerate their earnings by converting payment change into points, completing fun in-app challenges, or booking in-app Stays and Experiences.
New customers can earn 3,000 points (equivalent to 3,000 air miles or up to €60 in travel discounts) after making 150 eligible transactions. Additionally, they can reach a maximum of 10,000 bonus points by upgrading their plan and meeting the spending thresholds within the first 90 days.
For Ultra customers of Revolut, the rewards skyrocket. Customers who spend €2,500 per month can earn up to 30,000 RevPoints per year, enough for a free round trip from Europe to New York or a €600 discount on hotels.
On this subject, Christopher Guttridge, General Manager Lifestyle Products at Revolut stated:
“At Revolut our goal is to help people get more from their money. RevPoints is intended to transform everyday spending into products and experiences that people love, converting routine purchases into rewards. Unlike many loyalty programs, we make RevPoints accessible to everyone by ensuring that customers can maximize the benefits of using Revolut as their primary bank account without requiring a credit card.”
The largest neobank in Italy
At the beginning of June, Revolut achieved its goal, which is to become the largest neobank in Italy.
In fact, with 2 million customers in the Bel Paese, Revolut was the most downloaded financial and banking app in Italy during May 2024.
This milestone was made possible primarily thanks to continuous product innovation and the support of growing market investments.
With the current news of this month, it remains to be seen if the title of “largest neobank” will continue through June 2024.
