Bitget: the crypto-exchange abandons Hong Kong and decides not to get VATP license

Bitget, the famous crypto-exchange that became famous for copy-trading, has informed its users that it is abandoning Hong Kong:

“With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that due to business and market related considerations, we have decided not to pursue a Virtual Asset Trading Platform (VATP) license in Hong Kong. As a result of this decision, the BitgetX website (www.BitgetX.hk) will cease its operations effective December 13, 2023. At the same time, Bitgetx.hk will permanently exit the Hong Kong market.”

Specifically, Bitget has decided not to obtain a virtual asset trading platform (VATP) license and that as of 13 December 2023, BitgetX will no longer be accessible

Because of this very decision, the crypto-exchange has called on its BitgetX.hk platform users to withdraw their assets, as it will no longer be able to operate the platform after 13 December.

Should users not withdraw before that deadline, Bitget warns that they will lose their BitgetX platform assets.

During this month of closure, users will only be able to withdraw, while they will no longer be able to trade their assets. In addition, the crypto-exchange warns that as of now, no new users will be accepted.

The Innovation and Meme Zone section.

Recently, Bitget added Memecoin (MEMECOIN) to its Innovation Zone and Meme Zone section. In practice, since 3 November, traders have started trading the ERC-20 token in the Memeland ecosystem.

Specifically, Bitget has established the two sections: Innovation Zone, dedicated to the initial pricing of cutting-edge tokens, and the Meme Zone, dedicated to meme-inspired projects.

Following Memecoin, in fact, Bitget is adding more tokens to both sections. Today, for example, Sundae The Dog (SUNDAE) and Sexone (SEX) were added. Here are the announcements on X:
