Revolut celebrates the new milestone of 50 million customers globally

Today, the super fintech app of Revolut is celebrating its new milestone: 50 million customers globally.

“50 million customers in 38 markets in 9 years. It is a milestone worth celebrating. Thanks to every single customer around the world who helped us reach this goal. We continue to revolutionize the way the world makes money, every day. And we are just getting started: we have much more in store for you.”

Since its launch in 2015, Revolut’s presence has expanded to as many as 38 markets, growing as the most downloaded app exponentially. In this ongoing 2024 alone, there are 10 million new customers who have registered in the fintech app.

This milestone seems to be the result of a series of investments that the company has made, launching new products and new advertising campaigns.

Only last March 2024, Revolut had announced its investment of 450 million euros in marketing activities in Europe, with the specific goal of reaching the current 50 million customers.

In Italy, Revolut has about 2 million customers, and it seems that by the end of the year the new branch will be inaugurated in the Bel Paese. Subsequently, with a new base in Italy, Revolut will be able to offer an IT IBAN service to its customers.

Revolut app and its presence in the crypto world

As is now known, Revolut is a fintech app open to the crypto world and even in this 2024, it has implemented various initiatives and collaborations in the sector.

In March, Revolut formed a partnership with MetaMask, launching “Revolut Ramp”. Essentially, the new solution allows users to top up their MetaMask wallets directly from their Revolut accounts.

In the month of May, then, Revolut launched its new crypto trading platform Revolut X, dedicated only to users in the United Kingdom. It is a true crypto-exchange that offers fixed fees of 0% for makers and 0.09% for takers.

Given the enormous success of Revolut X in the UK, recently, Revolut decided to extend its cryptocurrency exchange to the entire European Union.

During the year, then, the financial app added support for new crypto, such as the memecoin of FLOKI but also the token of Telegram, Toncoin (TON).

The plan to launch its own stablecoin?

Staying on the topic of Revolut and crypto, the fintech giant seems to be considering the possibility of launching its own stablecoin.

The news was circulating last September, but it has not yet been made official. The idea is that Revolut might want to launch its stablecoin to consolidate its presence in the crypto sector.

On the other hand, there are those who argue that Revolut, like Robinhood, are trying to follow in the footsteps of another giant of digital payments, PayPal, which, in August 2013, issued PYUSD.
